The Fall Collection Just Landed
There’s a short window every year when Alabama finally stops being August. The light changes, the evenings get usable again, and somebody schedules a church supper.
Our fall cakes are in the case now, and this is the part of the year they’re built for.
What’s new
Eight designs, all hand-decorated:
- Fall Leaves Cake — from $39. Buttercream leaves in the colors the trees are about to do.
- Fall Roses Cake — from $39. Piped roses in deep autumn tones. Reads elegant, not seasonal-kitsch.
- Fall Scrollwork Cake — from $44. The most formal of the group. Good for a milestone birthday or an anniversary dinner.
- Fall Crescent Floral Cake — from $44. A floral crescent across the top, our most-requested shape.
- Fall Gerber Daisy Cake — from $34. Bright, cheerful, and the one kids pick.
- Fall Confetti Cake — from $29. The most affordable way to make a Tuesday feel like something.
- Fall Cookie Cake — $32 to $45. One flat round, no plates, no slicing tools.
- Fall Decorated Cupcakes — $48 a dozen. For when you’d rather not cut anything.
Every one of them can be made in any of our flavors. The design is the outside; you still pick what’s under it.
The flavors that taste like October
Some of our cakes are year-round. A few genuinely belong to this season.
Caramel is the one. Deep, buttery, unmistakably Southern, and the flavor we’d put money on if you asked us to pick one cake for a fall table.
Italian Crème — coconut and pecan under cream cheese icing — is the flavor grandmothers approve of, and it belongs at a fall gathering.
German Chocolate has a coconut-pecan filling that carries a cool evening without being heavy.
Red Velvet never leaves, but the color does something particular in October light.
One practical note: strawberry and lemon both use cream cheese icing and need to stay cold. They’re extraordinary cakes — strawberry is what we’re known for — but if you’re carrying dessert to an outdoor festival with no cooler, go caramel, double chocolate, or a cookie cake instead. Buttercream and fondant hold up at room temperature.
Feeding a fall crowd
October and November are the months somebody asks you to bring dessert for thirty people.
- Cookie Jar — 2 dozen assorted cookies, $45
- Snacktime Assortment Tray — 85 pieces, serves about 30, $65
- Brownie & Square Tray — $40 serves 10, $75 serves 20
- Classic Sweets Tray — $35
- Petit Fours — $16 for 9, $22 for 12
- Cheese Straws — $9.50 for two dozen, and the most Southern thing we make
For a full fall festival or a church supper, our breakfast and lunch catering scales in three sizes — small serves 10, medium 20, large 30. The whole ladder is on our catering menu.
When to order
